The Right to Surf

Online79% of adults surveyed believe that Internet Access is a fundamental right.  This puts it in the category of roads, water, electricity, and other essential services.

This survey covered 27,000 people across 26 countries from Japan, Ghana, and India, to Mexico as well as Europe and North America.  No country surveyed answered less than 50%

Minimally, this should call into question why Internet access in this country is not even considered a public utility.  Telephone access is, and is regulated as such, but not ISP service or cellular service.

But the larger head scratcher comes when you think about the fact that in the good ole US of A.  “The greatest, best country God has ever given man on the face of the Earth.”  Why we can’t even gain consensus that access to medical care is a fundamental right.
