It doesn’t matter who you are or what group you belong to. The law is the law. Follow it or pay the consequences. You don’t get special dispensation because of your religion or anything else.
If they’re wrong about the debt ceiling will that shake their belief in the evil of taxes and regulation, discounting of global warming, the universality of trickle down economics and capitalism, and other faith-based fact-defiant policy positions?
Boehner plans to use his –but I can’t control my crazy-ass Tea Party folks and they’re just nuts enough to do it– strategy to gain unrelated concessions. This is outright extortion.
If good Christians are truly trying to create a world Jesus would be proud of, why are they primarily standing behind people and policies it seems Jesus would have reviled?
