Time Enough to Eat

Two U.K. designers have developed a clock that generates it’s own power by trapping and digesting insects. On the one hand, this is kinda cool. After all, that biomass is just wasted when you simply smack down the little buggers and drop them in the trash. This has a nice almost green feel to it. On the other hand, the fact that the clock is still running means your house has an ample supply of the buggers.

However, in what has to be a sign of the coming robot apocalypse, the duo also claim to have designed another model which is fueled by mice. Now I don’t want mice in my house any more than you, but I don’t have a lot of mice either. What’s the clock going to do when it gets hungry? I don’t really want the neighbors knocking on my door inquiring about their cats and small children.
