The local paper’s Business section ran with a headline that today read:
“Marketing agency flourishes by connecting companies, customers”
I am now desperately concerned for the future of the small outfit about whom the puff piece was written. After all, their secret formula for success has now been exposed for all the world to see. Imagine what would happen if other competing marketing firms adopted the strategy of connecting companies and customers. It would be pandemonium.
I can hardly wait for next week’s installment in the series profiling regional businesses. And at the risk of getting a little ahead of the curve here, might I suggest a headline for next week?
“Retailer flourishes by selling stuff to people”
It’s this sort of hard-nosed journalism which will ensure the survival of the newspaper industry. You can’t get this sort of insight anywhere else.
