{"id":655,"date":"2007-05-17T17:22:00","date_gmt":"2007-05-17T22:22:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nicholsclan.com\/tinblog\/2007\/05\/were-all-gonna-die.html"},"modified":"2007-05-17T17:22:00","modified_gmt":"2007-05-17T22:22:00","slug":"were-all-gonna-die","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timscogitorium.com\/tinblog\/2007\/05\/were-all-gonna-die.html","title":{"rendered":"We&#8217;re All Gonna Die"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I find it hard to believe I&#8217;m linking to Oprah, but&#8230; Dr. Oz (I assume he&#8217;s a regular?) is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oprah.com\/health\/oz\/oz_20070515_350_111.jhtml\">asserting that good health<\/a> demands you have sex over 200 times a year. <\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"font-style: italic;\"><p>&#8220;If you have more than 200 orgasms a year, you can reduce your physiologic age by six years,&#8221; Dr. Oz says. He bases the number on a study done at Duke University that surveyed people on the amount and quality of sex they had. &#8220;They looked at what happened to folks that are having a lot of intercourse over time, and the fact is, it correlated.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>     Among the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oprah.com\/health\/yourbody\/youdocs\/youdocs_20061129_103.jhtml\">benefits of having sex<\/a> often, Dr. Oz says, is that it can prove that your body is functioning as it is supposed to. &#8220;But in addition, having sex with someone that you care for deeply is one of the ways we achieve that Zen experience that we all crave as human beings,&#8221; he says. &#8220;It&#8217;s really a spiritual event for folks when they&#8217;re with someone they love and they can consummate it with sexual activity \u2026 seems to offer some survival benefit.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Let me spare you the math&#8230; that&#8217;s four days a week.  The fact that this was a university study presumes that there is a statistically significant group of people that manage to maintain that pace on a regular basis.  I want to meet whomever organizes their calendar.
