I’m unsure who originally wrote this so I can’t give proper credit to the author.\u00a0 It does seem a tad dated as it looks like it was written for the 2008 election.\u00a0 Still, it just had to be shared.<\/p>\n

If you grow up in Hawaii, you’re “exotic, different”.<\/em><\/p>\n

If you grow up in Alaska eating mooseburgers and shooting wolves from airplanes, you\u2019re a quintessential American story.<\/em><\/p>\n

If you marry a millionairess and own nine homes, you’re \u00a0a “regular guy”.<\/em><\/p>\n

If your name is Barack, you’re a radical, unpatriotic Muslim.<\/em><\/p>\n

Name your kids Willow, Trig and Track, you’re an all-American hockey mom and a maverick.<\/em><\/p>\n

Graduate from Columbia, then Harvard Law, and you\u2019re unstable.<\/em><\/p>\n

Attend 5 different small colleges before graduating 6 years later, you’re well-grounded.<\/em><\/p>\n

You spend 3 years as a community organizer, become the first black president of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration drive that registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a constitutional law professor, spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with over 750,000 people, become chairman of the State Senate’s Health and Human Services Committee, spend 4 years in the United States Senate representing 13 million people, and in the meantime you sponsor 131 bills and serve on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran’s Affairs committees, you don’t have any real leadership experience.<\/em><\/p>\n

If your total resume consists of: Miss Wasilla, local sportscaster, the Wasilla PTA, 4 years on the town council and 6 years as the mayor of a suburb of 7,000 people, 20 months as the Governor of a state with a population the size of Providence, then you’re qualified to become the country’s second highest ranking executive.<\/em><\/p>\n

If you have been married to the same woman for 19 years while raising 2 daughters in a Protestant church and dedicating your life to helping people, you’re not a real Christian.<\/em><\/p>\n

If you came back from Vietnam to find that your (beauty queen) first wife had been disfigured by an accident, cheated on her with a rich (beauty queen) heiress, then left your wife and two kids to marry said beauty queen a month later, you’re a man of deep and abiding Christian principles.<\/em><\/p>\n

If you teach responsible, age-appropriate sex education to protect children from sexual predators, including the proper use of birth control, you are eroding the fiber of society.<\/em><\/p>\n

If, while governor, you staunchly advocate abstinence-only policies, with no other option in sex education in your state’s school system while your unwed teen daughter ends up pregnant, you’re a paragon of moral uprightness.<\/em><\/p>\n
