Despite the tanking stock market, the endless layoff announcements, the discouraging partisan political bickering, the cold weather, and the general malaise which is February anyway, my boys are bringing a bright spot to the season.
Both are completing their swimming seasons this week. Doug finished the year Thursday with two new best times at the year end Modified Tournament. His skill level over the past year has improved dramatically, and he’s well positioned to be a lead breastroker on next year’s modified team.
At the high school level, Tyler competed in the Section V class A sectional prelims on Thursday and was one of only two swimmers from his school to qualify for today’s finals meet in two individual events. Not bad for a Sophomore. He’ll be competing later today in a total of four events, including two relays. For anyone interested in the details, you can always track his progress here (although this hasn’t been updated with this week’s results as of this posting). Good luck Tyler!
